Lincoln-Douglas (NFA-LD)

About Lincoln-Douglas Debate

As described by the NFA website, NFA-LD debate "on the intercollegiate level is one-on-one policy debate" (NFA, ND). This event prioritizes research and speaking skills to produce pre-prepared arguments for the resolution proposed for the season. This implies that debates will sorround this topic area for the whole year. Despite a singular topic for every debate, each debate demonstrates a high level of creativity in terms of different arguments that fall under the topic. Usually offered are three divisions in NFA-LD debate: Novice, Junior, and Senior (Open).
