Speech Events and Coaches

We compete in many different speech events, ranging from impromptu speeches where you are given little time to prepare and give a speech (Impromptu and Extemporaneous Speaking), to TED-talk style prepared speeches (Original Speech Events), to even theater/drama style performances (Interpretation Events).

Impromptu

Impromptu is one of the most popular speech events. Competitors are given a set of prompts – usually famous quotations about life- and they give a short speech on it. Check out this video of one of our own competitors in impromptu.

Extemporaneous Speaking

Platform Speech Events

Platform Speech Events require that you write your own original speech about a topic of your choosing. Check out our Youtube channel for all the types of Original Speech Events and examples of them.

Interpretation Events
