About Extemporaneous Speaking

This event focuses on domestic and international current events. Competitors will choose one of three assigned questions to answer and usually these questions are extremely specific. Extemp is an event that requires you to stay up-to-date with world events to excel because you not only need to be aware of things like presidential campaigns, conflicts in the Middle East, and international trade embargoes, but you need to answer questions that aren’t easily answered with a single Google search.
