About Impromptu
This is one of the most popular speech events. Competitors are given a set of prompts – usually famous quotations about life- and they give a short speech on it. Competitors have 2 minutes to prepare a 5-minute speech. Competitors are expected to interpret what the prompt is saying, take a stance on whether the prompt is true or not, and defend that stance with examples and/or evidence. This is a very popular event among new members due to its simplicity, but is also a hard event to master for the same reason.
